I wanted to get on here and tell everyone that I really liked the meeting on Sunday. I thought it was very cool. I know the topic did not end on the same topic as the meeting was planned, but I really liked it. Elder Parker, you are very learned in the history of events through the bible and it has enabled you to understand it better. I would like to know if you, or any of the rest of the Lifeline staff, could direct me to a resource that can give me some background or history behind each book of the bible. For example, the time period the book of Esaiah was written, the events happening in Israel during that time period and some general comments about what the writer or prophet was talking about. It would really help me a lot. I know I should probably be figuring this out on my own, but I haven't and I would like help. So, a book would work better for me right now as I don't have a computer at home to get on the internet.

I don't know of any particular book. But I will do an internet search on that book of the Bible. I can print off anything I find and bring it to you on Sunday.

I thought the Bible Study on Sunday was excellent, also.

Sorry I did not respond earlier. Ok Sister Laura BELIEVE IT OR NOT The Zondervan NIV study bible has great notes it gives a time line and synopsis of each book. I have also found Dr. RC Sproul's Geneva Study bible to be a big help. Check out his website http://www.ligonier.org/ he has hundreds of study helps. Hope that I have been some help. Sister Laura I have Matthew Henry's cometary on the whole bible in which he expounds on the books of Isaiah. It is contained in my power bible cd I got from our church two years ago. I will get you this information on Sunday.
